In teaching department we have six days week but in other departments only five days week therefore they are geetting about 52 days leave in a year. Beside it they are getting 30 days EL then why EL is not for teachers!!

Thanks for the suggestion and a good point for the forthcoming debate in CAT.

Certainly our learned advocates will add this point in the case no. O.A. 1665/2009 before Principal Bench of CAT, Delhi.

You are being requested to motivate some more friends to join with us in GOA.

Sir

Please check the circular thoroughly. It does not say any where that EL shall be abolished. EL is dealt in rule 28 of leave rules. Rule 28 has not been touched. Further it also use the words" ON PAR WITH OTHER CENTRAL GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES"
I may also request you to go through railway circular on this issue, wherein they have added words " in lieu of earned leave". This phrase is absent in original circular.

We usually get such types of teachers who try to define govt circulars according to their own dreams and imagination. Mr Vikram is also not out of such dreaming habits. We are surprised to see such types of mails without reading total four pages of the circular.
DEAR Vikram, "At par with other Central Govt employees" means ONLY that the facility of earned leave or half pay leave will be admisible to employees if they work during vacations, breaks etc according to the circular of 1972. DEAR...... please unite for a single purpose to oppose the circular and dont create confusions.

If not El it is HPL ! What is special in new nomenclature ? No special benefits regarding the leave ? Why should they issue a memorandum without any benefit for the teaching community? Even state govt staff are getting 30 day ML in 5 years but not we. Should we not fight for it?

As stated after the introduction of 5day week in GOVT. offices the difference between vacation staff and non vacation staff is no more. The office staff has the liberty to opt for leave at their WILL AND PLEASURE, Whereas vacation staff has to utilize the leave as and when declared by the authorities. For this vacation staff has to fore go their right of EL.Moreover 10 days EL for vacation staff (now abolished as a gift of LHAP)AND 30DAYS EL and 20 DAYS LHAP to office staff, even though vacation staff and office staff are nearly working equal number of working days in a calender year. WHY THIS TYPE OF DISCREPANCY AMONG OUR PEOPLE.An office staff working days in a calender year are 365 days-52 Sundays-52 Saturdays=261(exclusive of other common holidays). An vacation staff working days in a calender year are 365days-52 Sundays -10 Saturdays(second Saturday is a holiday in some areas)-42 summer vacation-8days Dasarah -8days pongal=245days. FOR MERE DIFFERENCE OF 10 TO 15 DAYS vacation staff is foregoing 30 days of ENCASHABLE EL.
